Healthy chocolate chip cookie?
ByI’m on a diet and I’m looking for a healthy chocolate chip cookie recipe that are soft and chewy does any one have one?
I use a standard recipe, replace the butter with applesauce, cut the sugar by 1/4 cup, and make them into bars (they’ll hold up better this way than if you make cookies.)
1/2 Cup natural (no sugar added) applesauce
1/2 Cup brown sugar
1/4 cup splenda or sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup minute oats
1 c. flour (I often do 1/2 wheat 1/2 white or cake)
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
Optional add in:
chocolate chips
1/8 tsp. allspice, 1/8 tsp ground clove, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, pecans
a mix of chopped nuts, dried fruit, cereal, etc. (*dried bananas were surprisingly good)
Bake in an 8×8 square pan at 350
