I’ve been trying this only natural, organic type diet and I will buy organic dark chocolate. BAD or GOOD?
ByI heard that caffiene causes weight gain is that true?? Well why? && Is this organic dark chocolate a good idea when I’m wanting something sweet really bad?? The thing of it is , im looking for something that taste’s sweet that wont cause me to gain weight. I am always craving sweets bad usually after school, work or soccer practice. I just got back from working out for two hours and drank some chocolate milk and i feel pretty mad at myself. But it needs to be easy access so i dont get to something unhealthy firts….PLEASE HELP. =D
Dark Chocolate can be a good thing. The important thing is too make sure it is actually made of Cacao. The higher the percentage of this the better. Milk chocolate or imitation dark chocolates dont hold a candle to this, so make sure it is the real deal. I would aim for anything with 70% Cacao. It has many anti-oxidants that will help ward off free radicals which contribute to cancer risk and help to prevent premature aging. Caffeine causes the body to hold onto fat cells, but it also speeds up your heart and on average your movements, so I wouldnt be too concerned about the caffeine causing the weight gain. Remember that even though it has MANY health benefits, dark chocolate is also high in calories, so moderation is key. In the end though, I think it is fine to add some to your diet. Depriving yourself too much will only ensure that your diet will fail, and besides without that bite, you will be missing out on all those anti-oxidants! Good Luck!
PS: I try to eat Blueberries with some Soy Milk and a splash of Soy creamer for my sweet fix! It is sooo good, and since it is cold it takes a little longer to eat to help those cravings pass! Good luck!

A nutritionist has told me that it’s calories that cause you to gain weight, not caffeine, not fat, not carbohydrates. She recommended maintaining a reasonable intake of calories every day.
I think the minimum caloric intake for a woman is 1200 a day, and the maximum recommended is around 2500, but of course the more you burn the more you need, so if you exercise daily you may need more than the recommended daily allowance.
If I were you, I would read the labels of what you consume and work from that.
I would try to intake a small variety of everything, and don’t
beat yourself up over eating a very small amount of sweets
every day.
Sweets, while not necessarily healthy can provide a psychologically therapeutic experience.

i agree with the previous answer!
dark chocolate is not necessarily BAD for you, for many reasons it can be good. the caffeine in chocolate is so minimal the chances of gaining weight from it is pretty low. especially if eaten in small quantities.
just make such you get real dark chocolate, milk and white chocolate can be bad for you

the answer to your first question is no because caffiene is a is a drug named for energy thats why they have it in energy drinks but make sure you balance it out with water(64)oz per day. for your second question you might want to look more in to it ask your doctor and see if this is a good choice, another thing don’t be upset for drinking some chocolate milk it;s okay and stop trying so hard i can relate to what you are going through in order to love your self you have to accept that you are going to make mistakes no one is perfect i am going to pray for you that god will open your eyes and see that you are beautyful just the way you are and you don’t want to loose to much weight remember it’s by your height.
